Calculator options
Overtime is counted per workweek (7-day blocks from your start date), as the FLSA requires. Workweek 2 in a biweekly sheet has its own 40-hour threshold. Leave daily OT/DT blank for the standard federal rule; check California for the §510 daily rules.
Defaults tuned for independent work
- $65/hr placeholder rate — swap in yours; different rates per day = different clients
- Decimal hours front and center — the unit invoices are written in
- Share links that encode the sheet in the URL — send a client a pre-filled record without uploading anything
- CSV/PDF exports that attach cleanly to an invoice email
Billable vs worked
The number that decides your year isn't your rate — it's rate × billable ratio. Log everything here, log the billable slice in the billable hours calculator, and the effective-rate readout tells you whether to raise rates or cut scope creep.
