Overnight shifts are automatic: clock-out before clock-in means +24 h. Tap “Now” to stamp the current time. For a full week with overtime use the time card calculator.
Check your punch math
Companies make mistakes — a missed punch deduction, a break subtracted twice, midnight handled wrong. Run your day through this calculator and compare with your pay stub; if they differ, ask payroll which hours they used. For a full week with overtime rules, use the time card calculator.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my hours from clock in and clock out?
Subtract clock-in from clock-out (adding 24 hours if you clocked out after midnight), then subtract unpaid breaks. 8:03 AM → 4:47 PM minus 30 min = 8 h 14 m. The calculator above does it instantly — tap “Now” to stamp the current time.
I forgot to clock out. What now?
Enter your best recollection of the actual time, tell your supervisor, and check your state's rules — employers must pay for hours worked even without a punch.
Is rounding applied to my punches?
If your employer uses the 7-minute rule, punches round to the nearest quarter hour. This calculator shows both the raw and rounded day total.
